EnergyConnect - Nord Energi
Nord Energi
Nord Energi got rid of DataHub troubleNord Energi has said goodbye to heavy manual processes related to the exchange of data with Energinet's DataHub and welcome to a simpler and more efficient everyday life with EnergyConnect.
Nord Energi - Denmark's 10th largest electricity supplier - was the first customer to use EnergyConnect and remain very satisfied with the solution that handles meter data for almost 100,000 electrical installations daily. The department for maintaining installation and meter data is staffed by five administrative people.
“With EnergyConnect as a unified system for handling data from meters to Energinet's DataHub, we have said goodbye to heavy manual processes, and welcome to a simpler and more efficient working day. The DataHub module has streamlined the data flow and gives us the necessary overview so we can spend our time on new processes that create added value.”
Per Poulsen, Nord Energi
Better overview and easy to use
When Nord Energi was faced with the choice of a new system it was their wish that the solution should be logically structured and make it possible to automate the processes surrounding communication with DataHub. The solution uses the same terms used by DataHub which is a big advantage for the user.
EnergyConnect has given Nord Energi a good overview thanks to the dashboard overview, which focuses only on the things to be traded on, for example if something goes wrong at Energinet.
“All that is going well, we don't have to spend any time at all, and the dashboard gives an overview of whether there is something we lack in relation to other players in DataHub. Then you can go home and know that you can control everything."
Per Poulsen, Nord Energi
Efficient processes in everyday life
Also, the high degree of automation in terms of templates, estimations and group breakdowns makes the daily work more efficient. For example, the information entered is automatically validated so that the company does not send anything that is likely to be rejected. In addition, the system makes it easier to create new installations, as well as removals are handled automatically.
“Before, we were bombarded with web forms about errors that we had to fill, submit and await approval. For example, if had been a wrong time series that meant that the settlement went into rags, then the customer first had to go through the electricity dealer, who then reported the error to us on the back end. Everything has dropped dramatically now.”
Peter Jensen, head of the installation department, Nord Energi
This means that Nord Energi has been able to use their time more efficiently. For example the company can customize the data extraction according to their needs in relation to analyzes and follow-up etc.
According to Peter Jensen, the ease of use of the system has also meant that it is easy to train people to use the system:
“The tasks to be solved take less time. Instead, we can work on other and more value-adding tasks. You don’t need to be a specialist to use the system. It only requires a simple training in how it is constructed e.g. compared to the different groups, and then you're ready."
Peter Jensen, head of the installation department, Nord Energi
True to the core mission
From the start, EnergyConnect has focused on one thing: efficient handling of all data and processes around DataHub.
“Our previous system was aiming to do everything possible, but maybe that's exactly why none of it worked well. That would be too much. EnergyConnect is true to the core task it must solve: to make our daily lives simpler.”
Per Poulsen, Northern Energy
EnergyConnect from Fellowmind has been developed with a loosely coupled integration to Nord Energy's metering system VisionAir from Kamstrup.
